Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Lead firmware architecture on safety-conscious control products moving from prototype into volume manufacture.
Overview
A well established product business in Milton Keynes is expanding its embedded software team as three new platforms move from prototype into volume manufacture.
You will take architectural ownership of firmware running on ARM Cortex-M targets, working directly alongside hardware and test engineering rather than at arm's length from them.
This is a genuinely technical environment. Code review, static analysis and structured release processes are already in place, and the team is looking for someone who will raise the standard further.
The opportunity
- Own firmware architecture across a family of connected control products.
- Write, review and test production C and C++ on ARM Cortex-M targets.
- Work with hardware engineers through bring-up, debug and design validation.
- Define and improve build, test and release automation for embedded targets.
- Mentor two mid-level engineers and contribute to technical hiring decisions.
About you
- 5+ years of commercial embedded software development.
- Demonstrable ownership of a product from prototype through to production.
- Comfortable at the hardware boundary: schematics, scopes, logic analysers.
- Experience working to a structured development lifecycle.
